Sylvie has her Master's Degree in Holistic Health Education from John F. Kennedy University. She also went to Bauman College to become a
Certified Nutrition Educator. She has been a Certified Personal Trainer
through AFAA since 2002 and has enjoyed working as a fitness instructor at the Berkeley YMCA and as a personal trainer for her individual clients.

Sylvie has worked as a clinical nutritionist at Metabolic Nutrition in San
Rafael, CA since 2004. She was priviledged to work with Dr. Harold Kristal for 8 months before he passed away. Dr. Kristal created the in-office Functional Metabolic Typing protocol still used today at the Metabolic Nutrition clinic. Sylvie has taught seminars all across the United States, instructing nutritionists, MD's, ND's, and other health professionals and demonstrating Dr. Kristal's Functional Metabolic Typing protocol.  

Sylvie also worked as a Managing Counselor at Lite for Life in San Jose, where she counseled hundreds of people in a weight management program based on blood sugar stabilization. From this experience, she feels confident that through diet and exercise, it is entirely possible to reverse Type II Diabetes.

Because it's really all about the food, Sylvie spent three months volunteering at Three Stone Hearth, a community kitchen in Berkeley where the founders are dedicated to preparing nutrient dense foods, produced from local sustainable farms. Sylvie is half French, and spent many summers in Paris and throughout the French countryside eating and enjoying delicious foods. She believes that a little dark chocolate, wine, and cheese (organic and raw of course!) can be part of a healthy lifestyle!

Sylvie lives in the Berkeley Hills. She enjoys hiking through Tilden Park and on Mount Tamalpais, watching dogs play, trying various dance classes, and of course, cooking and eating healthy and delicious food with friends.
